The whistle of the train interrupts every afternoon in Aracataca, a noise that enchants foreign people, but passes unnoticed to the ears of many children who play cheerfully, barefoot in the dusty streets of their neighborhoods. They do not care about their homework, they enjoy the long days while living in a society where they know everybody, even Tim, the foreign guy  who watches them while he reads, thinks, writes and photographs every corner of this magic  town that inspired the Nobel Prize winning Gabriel Garcia Marquez, to create his work masterpiece: One Hundred Years of Solitude

“Pintar  una buena obra es como hacer bien el amor “. Las palabras del maestro Almendardes interrumpieron el silencio que reinaba en la galería Alvi-11 de  Santa Marta. Su  franca sonrisa  reflejó  de inmediato esa libertad artística que  defiende a capa y espada en su lienzo, esa que a veces lo vuelve rebelde, polémico y hasta  jodido como él mismo lo reconoce, pero que nunca lo aleja  de su identidad: ese  niño pescador y leñador  que ama los atardeceres en la bahía, que contempla el lento  vaivén  de las  canoas en  la ciénaga;  aquel que no fue inmune a la tragedia del Parque Salamanca y supo plasmarla en  su serie Humedales, como protesta por esta  tragedia ecológica.
